Pintaflores is a combination of two events in San Carlos City: the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival (pinta, from the term pintados or “tattooed”) and the Dances of Flowers (flores). The fiesta honors San Carlos (St. Charles) Borromeo, the city’s patron saint. The highlights are dance dramas about life and death and the triumph of good over evil; and rhythmic dances, all of which depict the people’s merriment and thanksgiving for abundant blessings and success.
